PowerSchool Connection Issues
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Lumpkin County School System recently added a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate to our PowerSchool Server.  This encryption was required by the Georgia Department of Education.  You may receive a message that indicates "the connection is untrusted."  The message you are receiving is a normal message that any user will see the first time they visit PowerSchool on a computer.  In order to access PowerSchool, the user should tell their computer that they understand the risks and then tell it to "get certificate" and then "confirm security exception" and the user will then be able to log onto PowerSchool.  Each web browser may handle this new encryption differently, but if the user "trust" the connection then it will be able to connect. We apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused in accessing PowerSchool.
