Homecoming Parade
Friday, October 09, 2009

The Homecoming Parade was a great success this year and the competition for the best float was especially tough.  It was a close race, and the judges were very impressed with the floats and the students working on the floats.  In first place, with a combined score of 96 out of 100 Key Club took the best float award.  In second place, the Class of 2012 (Sophomores) had a combined total of 91.  In third place, the Modern Language Club had a combined total of 81.  Great job to all students, parents, and sponsors who worked hard on homecoming floats this year!

Key Club sponsor and Teacher of the Year Jason Lemley wanted to join with Student Council sponsor Janet Tripp-Smith to say a special thank you to our judges this year--School Board Member Dr. Susan Sockwell, Chamber of Commerce President Amy Booker, County Commissioner Chair Dr. John Raber, and Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard.  Four very busy people in our community gave their time to participate in this year's homecoming parade, and their support of our school is much appreciated.  They also want to thank Mary Cooper for helping with the parade line-up and making sure our homecoming court was in order and ready for the parade.

See ya Friday night!
